Whitney Curtis via Getty Images For the first time, Native American women will finally have representation in the U.S. House of Representatives after the commanding victories of Deb Haaland and Sharice Davids Tuesday night. Deb Haaland takes the stage Tuesday after becoming one of two Native American women to be elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. But the fact that multiple Native American women succeeded at the polls is especially monumental considering our people weren’t even given full legal protection of our voting rights until less than 60 years ago.
