Shah, Doval arrive in Odisha for 3-day DGP-IGP conference
Deccan ChronicleBhubaneswar: Odisha’s capital, Bhubaneswar, has been transformed into a heavily secured hub as it hosts the three-day Conference of Director Generals of Police and Inspector Generals of Police, starting this evening. Union home minister Amit Shah and national security advisor Ajit Doval arrived at Bhubaneswar Airport on Friday afternoon to participate in the conference, which will focus on key issues related to national security and law enforcement. Ahead of his departure, Mr Shah tweeted, “The conference to be presided over by PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji will delve into the aspects of further bolstering Bharat's security in the face of emerging challenges.” Senior police officials from across the country have convened in Bhubaneswar for the event. Key topics on the table include counter-terrorism, Left-Wing Extremism, coastal security, the impact of new criminal laws, narcotics control, and other critical aspects of national security. The 59th DGPs/IGPs Conference marks the first time Odisha has hosted the event, adding another milestone to the state’s record in hosting high-profile national engagements.
