Congress in disarray in UP, Priyanka rallies cancelled

New Delhi: The Congress finds itself lagging behind in the poll race in Uttar Pradesh with less than three months for the Assembly elections to be announced. General secretary incharge Priyanka Gandhi was abroad last month, then she was in Shimla with her mother and brother. Last week, Lalitesh Pati Tripathi, vice-president of Congress' Uttar Pradesh unit and great grandson of former chief minister Kamlapati Tripathi, resigned from all posts and primary membership of the party. He was a key figure in the rallies and programmes of Priyanka Gandhi in the campaign in Uttar Pradesh leading up to the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
