Hyderabad: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, of the BJP, on Wednesday rapped AIMIM floor leader and Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi for his alleged misbehaviour with police personnel. Addressing a public meeting in Charminar, he said: “I was stunned by seeing the video, which raised several questions… is the country still democratic or is there still a Mughal or Razakar rule?” Pushing religious agenda, he said that the “pran prathista” of Lord Ram is scheduled for January 22 in Ayodhya, exhorting the public to vote for the BJP. Continuing his attack on Akbaruddin, he said: “Similar behaviour was exhibited by some people in Uttar Pradesh and Assam, but the BJP government, with a little effort, had put an end to it.” “Just think once… If BJP forms government in Telangana, will anyone dare to abuse a cop in such a manner?” he said. He also attacked BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao, saying that the BJP would end his appeasement politics upon coming to power.
