Latest in Aadhaar challenge: TRAI chief RS Sharma rubbishes reports of 'Re 1 deposited' in his account
India TV NewsTelecom Regulatory Authority of India chief RS Sharma's open challenge to ethical hackers to prove vulnerabilities in Aadhaar database has now led to attempts of depositing money the official's account. The TRAI chairman's open dare and subsequent claims of his personal details being put out publicly was also raised in Parliament on Monday when Opposition lawmakers demanded him to apologise "He must apologise to the country for making people insecure about their Aadhaar data," Congress MP Pratap Sigh Bajwa said. Earlier, the UIDAI had asserted that the personal details of RS Sharma being put out on Twitter are not from the Aadhaar database or its servers, and that "so called hacked information" is easily available with a simple search on Google and other sites, without using the 12-digit unique identity number. The UIDAI jumped into the debate following a full blown war of words on Twitter between Trai Chairman RS Sharma and some users over the potential of Aadhaar number being misused.
