Mizoram assembly election: Congress announces candidates for all 40 seats

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was on a two-day visit to campaign for party candidates in Mizoram. Congress has fielded debutant Lalsanglura Ralte from the Aizwal East-I constituency, currently held by Mizo National Front president and chief minister Zoramthanga. Gandhi alleged that both the major parties of Mizoram – Mizo National Front and the opposition Zoram People's Movement – are "instruments for the BJP and the RSS to gain a foothold" in the Christian-majority state.
