While many viewers were deeply affected by the challenges faced by Sanya's character, Richa, some felt the film was unfairly targeted towards men. In an exclusive chat with India Today Digital, Kanwaljit spoke about Mrs, his approach to playing the role, and the discussions surrounding the film. When I saw the film, I felt so disgusted that I instantly went to Sanya and said sorry," said Kanwaljit. When asked about the film's viral success and the backlash his character received, the actor said, "Honestly, people sometimes get deeply involved with films and characters.
