'Even coronavirus won't save Kamal Nath govt', says Shivraj Singh Chouhan as Madhya Pradesh governor calls for floor test on Tuesday
FirstpostMadhya Pradesh governor Lalji Tandon on Monday gave the Kamal Nath state government an ultimatum demanding that it prove its majority in a floor test on Tuesday. “Conduct the floor test on 17 March, otherwise it will be considered that you actually don’t have the majority in the state Assembly,” the letter was quoted by ANI as saying. While the first day of the state budget session was adjourned till 26 March on Monday in view of the coronavirus outbreak, the BJP, led by former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan moved the Supreme Court demanding that the government prove its majority within 48 hours. Meanwhile, Tandon told the chief minister that prima facie he was convinced that the Congress government was in minority and to “protect democratic principles”, Nath must win the trust of the House “immediately”.
