UDF members boycott Ministers’ replies citing frequent interruptions by LDF members
The Opposition Congress-led United Democratic Front boycotted the replies of the Ministers to the discussion on the demands for grants in the Kerala Assembly on Thursday in protest against “repeated interruptions” by Left Democratic Front members during the moving of an adjournment motion and Leader of the Opposition V.D. He accused the LDF members of repeatedly interrupting UDF’s Najeeb Kanthapuram who moved the adjournment motion raising anganwadi workers’ issues and his own subsequent speech announcing a walkout in the morning. Mr. Satheesan declared that the UDF members were leaving the floor to meet and express their solidarity with the Accredited Social Health Activists who were protesting outside the Secretariat. Minister for Water Resources Roshy Augustine, who spoke after the UDF members left the floor, criticised them for leaving without waiting for the Ministers’ replies after participating in the discussions.
