
'Bye, bye UPSC': Rahul Gandhi raises questions over PMO's proposal for change in civil services cadre allocation
India TV NewsCongress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday raised questions over the Prime Minister Office's proposal for a change in allotment of cadre to civil services qualifiers. The letter dated May 17, 2018, asks the concerned authorities to examine if civil services allocation of successful candidates can be done after the completion of Union Public Service Commission foundation course. "The Prime Minister's Office has desired to consider the following suggestion and necessary action on it for its implementation from the current year itself:- to examine if service allocation/cadre allocation to probationers selected on the basis of Civil Services Examination be made after Foundation Course," the letter issued by Vijoy Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training states. "Examine the feasibility of giving due weightage to the performance in the Foundation Course and making service allocation as well as cadre allocation to All India Service Officers, based on the combined score obtained in the Civil Services Examination and the Foundation Course," the letter adds.
