Supreme Court reserves order on plea against termination of 2 Madhya Pradesh judges
India TodayThe Supreme Court on Tuesday reserved its order on the suo motu writ petition registered in connection with the termination of services of six female civil judges by the Madhya Pradesh government, of which two are yet to be reinstated. On the last date of hearing, the top court had slammed the state high court for terminating the services of women civil judges in the state and refused to reinstate some of them. The top court was hearing the suo motu cognisance case since January this year, the issue of the termination of the six judges by the Madhya Pradesh government in June 2023. Clarifying its stand, the law department of the Madhya Pradesh government had passed the order to sack these six women judges after an administrative committee and a full court meeting found their performance during the probation period unsatisfactory.
