Read our privacy policy A Metropolitan Police officer has been found guilty of misconduct in public office after meeting a 15-year-old girl in a park and sending a 16-year-old girl dozens of text messages. The court heard Arib had described himself as “naive and foolish” and claimed he believed offering careers guidance to the two girls was part of his wider policing duties. The girl later said in an interview that the alleged comments made her feel “uncomfortable”, the court heard. The court heard how she began to feel “uncomfortable and a bit weird” when Arib allegedly started quizzing her about her personal life in the station.
