Then Lee Greenwood live-performed Trump’s longtime walk-on music “God Bless the U.S.A.,” while a scrim slowly rose to reveal a shadowed Trump on the stage, with his name written behind him. By not going full laser show in her speech, and in preparation for the convention’s final night, Democrats presented a levelheaded contrast to Trump and began the process of leveling themselves out too.
