History repeats itself for Bradley Beal and the Wizards in loss to Bulls

New York Times

CHICAGO — Bradley Beal sat at his locker, face sinking into his palms. That wasn’t the scene from Wednesday night, when the 15-27 Bulls topped the 13-27 Wizards 115-106 in Chicago before Beal criticized the team’s culture. “I don’t like losing, so it’s gonna keep building up for me until we starting winning and changing our culture.” What’s to change with the culture? Even before the aforementioned exchange took place, Beal added a qualifier to his review of the night: “We played hard, though.” Opposing competitors, most notably the Nuggets’ Jamal Murray, have consistently complimented Washington as one of the league’s hardest-playing, feistiest squads. Maybe “culture” signifies something to Beal that it doesn’t to us.
