Bonza cancels Darwin-Gold Coast flights until mid-March, extending frustration for customers
ABCBudget airline Bonza has cancelled all its flights between Darwin and the Gold Coast until mid-March, nearly a month after it scrapped all flights along the route for December. Bonza said customers who had booked flights on the route between January 2, 2024 and March 18, 2024 would be "eligible for a full refund or a transfer to/from the Darwin-Sunshine Coast route". Bonza chief executive Tim Jordan said the airline had "made the difficult decision" to cancel flights along the route until March 19, 2024. "We want to be certain that we can provide a service that is reliable and to a standard that we're proud of," he said "Operating the Gold Coast-Darwin route prior to March would mean that we'd be putting a strain on our current capacity and we owe it to our customers and our Bonza legends to learn from our previous missteps by putting measures in place so that we can deliver reliable low cost air travel."
