The Hindu

The Greater Chennai Corporation has promised its residents a ‘pothole-free’ city in six months amid repeated complaints of damaged roads from them. The promise comes as the civic body plans to acquire 15 mobile jet patchwork machines to expedite the repair of potholes on bus route and interior roads. Additionally, NSC Bose Road, near Mint Street, and multiple streets in Kondithope, including Peddu Street, Padavattamman Koil Street, and North Wall Road, were reportedly riddled with potholes despite recent repairs. The GCC has identified 2,076 patches that require repairs on roads in the city since December 1, according to the information shared.
