Daniel Craig says he wouldn't have done Queer while playing James Bond. Here's why

In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Daniel Craig revealed that he could not have taken on his role in Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming film Queer while he was still playing James Bond. “I was so exhausted at the end of a Bond it would take me six months to recover emotionally,” he shared, adding that while his career often took precedence, he always believed life should come first. Queer, based on the semi-autobiographical 1985 novella by William S Burroughs, stars Craig as William Lee, an American expatriate who becomes infatuated with Eugene Allerton, a discharged US Navy serviceman played by Drew Starkey. The film marks a significant departure from Craig’s previous roles, particularly his 15-year stint as Bond.
