BJP aims to enrol 1.5 crore new members
The HinduThe Bharatiya Janata Party announced on Tuesday that it would launch the second phase of its membership drive on January 10, aimed at enrolling 1.5 crore new primary members. “We are trying to expand party membership through the ‘Sangathan Parv’ initiative, that started on January 1,” Revenue Minister Bawankule said, adding from panchayat to Parliament workers and from booth president to State president will visit 50 to 60 houses on January 10 and on other similar drives later. Speaking about achieving the target of 1.5 crore party members, Mr. Bawankule mentioned at least 15,000 party functionaries after completing the target of achieving primary membership will attend the Maharashtra BJP State executive meeting held in Shirdi on January 12. Active Membership Going forward, after achieving the target of 1.5 crore primary membership, the BJP will establish active membership.
