Deccan ChronicleVisakhapatnam: In the wake of the cyclone's devastation, reports from the GVMC areas revealed a staggering increase in waste accumulation, with an average collection of 40-50 tonnes skyrocketing to an unprecedented 120 tonnes on Thursday alone. GVMC official Naresh Kumar highlighted the challenges, emphasizing the urgent need for sanitation and cleanup. Teams have diligently worked on clearing the debris, plastic waste and garbage from the main roads and prominent areas, intensifying the efforts in tourist-dense spots where substantial waste and sand accumulation occurred.
