
Sammelan urges government to reject Kasturirangan report
The HinduThe 80th Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelan passed six resolutions at an open session here on Thursday, the last day of the three-day event, including an appeal to the State government to initiate steps to reject the K. Kasturirangan Committee report on saving the Western Ghats in Kodagu. The resolution was proposed by president of the Gadag Kannada Sahitya Parishat Kuribasappa Maribasappa, while it was seconded by president of the Chikmagalur Kannada Sahitya Parishat N.S. The resolution was moved by president of the Mandya Kannada Sahitya Parishat Meera Shivalingaiah and seconded by president of the Bidar Kannada Sahitya Parishat Siddramappa Masimaade. Shimoga Kannada Sahitya Parishat president D. Manjunath moved the resolution and president of the Udupi Kannada Sahitya Parishat Neelavara Surendra Adiga seconded it. Central Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Pundalika Halambi proposed the resolution and president of the Tumkur Kannada Sahitya Parishat Bhaskarachar seconded it.
