Earlier last year the Nepal government announced that the 750 MW West Seti project – on one of the tributaries of the Karnali in western Nepal – would be built by its own companies, while the licence of the project had already been given to China Three Gorges Company. “The most productive time of my life has gone waiting for this project to kick off,” said Bal Bahadur Shahi at Ramaghat, three kilometres down from the dam site on the Karnali highway.
