Daily MailA woman said she has ‘lost trust in the police’ after her laptop was stolen from a busy central London restaurant and she had CCTV to prove it - only for the police to tell her to scan a QR code to report it. Speaking to MailOnline, Hannah said: ‘I didn’t know at the time but as you can see on the CCTV, this man came in and started looking around for people to target. Hannah ran back to the restaurant, who provided her with CCTV which confirmed her laptop had been stolen The man can be seen chatting to another table before he targets Hannah's bag Hannah said: ‘I really didn’t think somebody would be so brazen to come in, take my laptop out of my bag then just leave' She continued: ‘I felt like I had hit a brick wall. I tried to tell them what happened and they told me to scan a QR code which led me to an online form to fill out' ‘In my head, I have given up all hope of getting my laptop back,’ she said ‘This is my first time I’ve had to go to the police in this country and the whole thing felt really impersonal.
