Back in 2018, Asus created space for itself in the midrange phone segment with its ZenFone Max Pro M1 - the first Asus phone in India to come with a clean build of Android. At the time, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 offered a stock Android 8.1 Oreo and it promised two OS updates as well. Two reports from XDA Developers state that the beta version of the Android 10 build for the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 and ZenFone Max Pro M2 have been released. The ZenFone Max Pro M2 was the last affordable phone Asus sold in India.
