Blair’s national security adviser drafted in for defence review

The Telegraph

Sir Tony Blair’s national security adviser and a former private secretary to the Prince of Wales have been drafted in to advise on a review of Britain’s readiness to fight future wars. The Strategic Defence Review, announced by Sir Keir Starmer days into his premiership, will focus on the changing nature of conflict. Grace Cassy, who advised Sir Tony between 2004 and 2006, and Jean-Christophe Gray, who worked for Prince William, are among six new experts appointed to the SDR team. The note sent to Sir Tony’s office by Irfan Siddiq, who worked for Jack Straw, admitted those captured by British forces in Iraq or Afghanistan may have been sent to the centres illegally.
