Kerala man loses Rs 4 crore after downloading an app from WhatsApp

The victim fell prey to a deceptive WhatsApp message that included a link to an app promising lucrative investment opportunities and high returns. This incident reported from Kerala started when the victim was contacted by an accused identified as a woman named Avanthika Dev, who allegedly posed as a representative of a reputed private financial services company. The scammer even presented fake reports showing high returns and quick financial gains from other users, claiming they had also profited by joining the process. Avoid installing apps shared via messaging platforms like WhatsApp, as these links are often phishing attempts designed to deceive users.
