Jets’ offseason to-do list: Trading for Aaron Rodgers is just one of many tasks
New York TimesThe Athletic has live coverage of the Aaron Rodgers trade between the Packers and Jets. It’s a complicated deal, especially if the Jets are trying to get the Packers to eat some of the $59 million owed to Rodgers. If we’re making predictions, I’ll say: Jets trade their 2023 second-round pick, a conditional 2024 third-round pick and wide receiver Corey Davis to the Packers for Rodgers and a 2023 seventh-round pick. Address defensive tackle depth Wednesday, the Jets lost two defensive tackles to free agency: Sheldon Rankins signed with the Texans and Nathan Shepherd went to the Saints. The Jets also already traded for Chuck Clark to replace Lamarcus Joyner on the roster, though his playing style is similar to Whitehead’s — whom the Jets could cut or trade to save $7.25 million.
