DUSIB survey to identify slum residents eligible for EWS flats
Hindustan TimesDelhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board, the slum management agency of the Delhi government, has launched a survey to identify slum dwellers who are eligible for allotment of flats meant for the economically weaker sections category under the “Mukhya Mantri Awas Yojna”, the agency’s chief executive officer Kumar Mahesh said on Thursday. DUSIB survey to identify slum residents eligible for EWS flats Mahesh said that the government aims to allot more than 9,000 EWS flats built for the slum dwellers in the first phase. The cut-off date for eligibility under Delhi government’s Rehabilitation policy is January 1, 2015 which means that those staying in the slums before January 1, 2015 are eligible for the allotment of flats provided that they meet other criteria like they should have voters’ identity card of 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and other documents like Aadhar card, ration card etc., to establish their stay in the slum. While the Delhi government initiated the allotment process to 9,000-plus slum residents, it was put on hold after the Centre launched the Affordable Rental Housing Complexes scheme was announced in 2020.
