Karnataka to send sampales of COVID positive cases for genomes sequencing: Minister

Belagavi: In the backdrop of surge in COVID cases in some countries, the Karnataka government has decided to send Covid-positive cases for genomic sequencing and also focus on booster dose vaccination. “In the wake of new variants being found in some countries, the Union Health Ministry has directed states to send samples of new Covid cases for genomic sequencing. We have already taken measures to implement it,” Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K Sudhakar told reporters in Belagavi. While we have achieved 100 percent coverage in two doses of vaccination, many people are yet to take the precautionary dose.
