TNT announces alternate NBA All-Star Game broadcasts, will pair Charles Barkley and Draymond Green
New York TimesYou are about to be inundated with more viewer choices than ever before when it comes to the NBA All-Star Game Weekend. Later Tuesday, TNT Sports will announce its NBA All-Star content lineup across TNT, TBS, truTV, Max and Bleacher Report, including an alternate Saturday telecast featuring the TNT Sports analyst debut of Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum and the pairing of Inside The NBA host Charles Barkley and Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green watching Sunday’s All-Star Game together. Among the highlights: Green and Barkley will team up for an NBA All-Star Game ALTCAST on Sunday, which can be viewed on truTV and Max. The traditional Saturday Night NBA All-Star broadcast will air on TNT, TBS and Max starting at 8 p.m. “In the past we haven’t had as much flexibility around network real estate, and now with the new company we’ve been given some opportunity to see if we can create some adjacent sports opportunities that create a certain level of engagement and value for fans,” said Craig Barry, TNT Sports executive vice president and chief content officer. “All- Star Weekend is one of our larger tentpoles and we can create an onramp on truTV for original adjacent content and altcast and get creative in that space.” The pairing of Barkley and Green is a continuation of two opinionated basketball voices creating some viral moments during previous interactions.
