10 sentenced to double life term in Kerala political twin murder case

A CBI Special Court in Ernakulam on Friday sentenced 10 individuals to double life imprisonment for the killings of Youth Congress workers Sarath Lal PK and Kripesh in Kasaragod, Kerala five years ago. The court also handed five years of rigorous imprisonment to four CPI leaders, including former MLA KV Kunhiraman, for aiding the crime. In addition to the double life sentences, T Ranjith and A Surendran were convicted of destroying evidence and shielding the accused, each fined Rs 2 lakh. Four CPI leaders, including K Manikandan, Raghavan Velutholy, and KV Bhaskaran, received five-year sentences and were fined Rs 10,000 for forcibly freeing the accused from police custody.
