Sion hospital viral video left medical staff demoralised: Resident doctors speak on controversy

The recent controversy over a viral video showing patients lying next to bodies at a Mumbai hospital and the resultant transfer of the institution's dean has 'demoralised' medical staff while just showing one aspect of a ground reality that has left doctors overloaded. Last week, controversy erupted over conditions at the city's hospitals after a video uploaded on social media showed patients undergoing treatment for the novel coronavirus lying next to bodies inside a ward. This is a fight against Covid-19 - Dr Akshay Yadav Another resident doctor, Dr Rishabh Chheda, explains that unlike other facilities in Mumbai, Sion hospital admits both Covid-19 and non-Covid-19 patients. We are actually working round the clock," Dr Rishabh says, adding that the controversy generated by the viral video has "demoralised workers at Sion Hospital, which is not good at all".
