Net EPFO subscribers in FY24 jump; check out the big numbers

In what is deemed as a bg improvement in India’s jobs situation, it has been reported that the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation has logged over 19% growth in net subscribers to 1.65 crore members in 2023-24. There have been significant improvements across a number of metrics including net EPFO subscribers. The net subscribers addition by EPFO jumped in excess of 19 per cent to 1.65 crore in 2023-24, PTI reported, quoting an official in the know. According to the Periodic Labour Force Survey data for the last six years, there is an improving trend seen in labour participation rate and worker population ratio. And as far as the unemployment rate is concerned, then this metric has dropped from 6 per cent in 2017-18 to a low of 3.2 per cent in 2022-23, the official indicated.
