As per the agreement, Wang Yi, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval will hold the 23rd meeting of Special Representatives on the China-India Boundary Question in Beijing on December 18, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Monday. Relations between India and China had been strained since a deadly military clash in 2020 along the border between Tibet and India’s Ladakh region, which resulted in the deaths of at least 20 Indian soldiers and four Chinese soldiers. China and India, the two most populous nations in the world, are intense rivals and have accused each other of attempting to seize territory along the Line of Actual Control, their unofficial border.
