Srisailam Forest, Devasthanam in Row Over Boundary

Kurnool: A conflict has erupted between the Srisailam Devasthanam and the forest department over their boundary. While demarking the boundary, officials of the forest department included 13 acres at the tollgate within the forest area. But the devasthanam authorities objected to this, accusing the forest staff of creating problems for devotees by arbitrarily demarcating the boundary. According to FRO V. Narasimhulu, their survey has found that 13 acres of land belongs to the forest department, but it had been under the control of the devasthanam authorities.
