Mumbai airport touches a high with 13.4 million international fliers in 2018-19
Hindustan TimesThe Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport recorded an 8.1% rise in international passenger traffic in 2018-19, the highest in three airports in the state, according to the recently released economic survey of the state for 2018-19. Domestic passengers, however, grew the most at Pune airport, followed by Nagpur and Mumbai According to the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation, an aviation consultancy, the passenger growth at Mumbai’s CSMIA is slow. The international passenger traffic in Mumbai went up to 13.4 million in 2018-19, from 12.2 million in 2017-18. The report stated: “Phase-1 of the airport is expected to be commissioned by 2019, with an initial capacity of 10 million passengers per annum.” According to the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation, an aviation consultancy, the passenger growth at Mumbai’s CSMIA is slow.
