It's 'not possible to keep up' with Elon Musk's lies anymore: analysis
Raw StoryPolitical analyst Kevin Drum on Thursday took stock of X owner Elon Musk's promotion of falsehoods about the fires decimating California, and came away with the unsettling conclusion that his lies are becoming too numerous and fast to debunk. Writing at his Jabberwocking blog, Drum ran down multiple false claims Musk promoted about the fire, including claims about emergency water tanks being emptied before the fire began and the city of Los Angeles supposedly slashing its fire department budget. In addition to those flatly false claims, Drum also took apart misleading claims promoted by Musk, including one about the fire department supposedly being decimated because they fired members who refused to get vaccinated against COVID-19. "Virtually all of the increase in California wildfires is due to warming," he argues while pointing to a recent study about fire intensity over the last several decades.
