OpenAI reveals several lonely users are using ChatGPT
OpenAI has revealed a concerning trend among ChatGPT users, with many experiencing heightened loneliness after engaging frequently with the AI chatbot. The study’s results indicate that while most users engage with the bot for short periods, there is a smaller group of "power users" who spend significantly more time using the AI. A separate part of the research examined how users interacted with ChatGPT in two distinct modes – a "neutral mode" and an "engaging mode." Users who communicated with the neutral mode were more likely to experience an increase in loneliness, while those who interacted with the engaging mode felt less isolated.
