FM Sitharaman arrives in Washington for spring meetings, second G20 finance ministers meet
Hindustan TimesWashington: Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman arrived in Washington on Sunday to attend the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank and chair the second G20 finance ministers and central bank governors meeting under the Indian presidency. India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman meets Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs of the Republic of Malawi Sosten Gwengwe on the sidelines of the World Bank-IMF Spring Meetings 2023, in Washington DC, US, on Monday. In Washington, the G20 meeting will focus on three themes — global economy and international financial architecture; sustainable finance, financial sector and financial inclusion; and international taxation. The finance minister will also meet the G20 expert group on reforming multilateral development banks, co-chaired by veteran Indian economic policymaker and former parliamentarian NK Singh and former US treasury secretary and Harvard economist Larry Summers.
