Darlington Public School in Sydney's inner-city awarded World Building of the Year in international competition
ABCThis Aussie primary school might be small in size, but it's considered one of the best examples of architecture worldwide. Nestled in Sydney's inner-city, Darlington Public School has been awarded World Building of the Year at the 2024 World Architectural Festival. Darlington Public School principal Michelle McCormack said the building's design would benefit their student cohort greatly. "We're very, very fortunate and we are very grateful that we have this beautiful new 21st Century school that's full of endless possibilities for generations of students to come." Design emphasises sustainability, Indigenous culture The curved screen, which wraps around a section of the school, was an extension of the architect's previous design at Inner Sydney High School in Surry Hills.
