A 27-year-old man attempted to end his life after attacking his paramour with a knife in Salem district. C. Vanitha, a resident of Mariamman Pudur near Vazhapadi, got married six years ago and has two children. On Friday evening, Vedaraj is said to have asked Vanitha to visit Vazhapadi and she did so with her two children. On hearing the screams of the children, the local residents rushed to the spot and admitted the duo to Salem Government Hospital.
