Two quacks arrested in Ranipet

Two quacks were arrested on Saturday for giving prescriptions and treatment to patients in their illegal clinic cum pharmacy near Arcot town in Ranipet. A special medical team led by S. Tamil Iniay, health officer, Government Taluk Hospital, conducted a surprise check in the houses of the two quacks after health officials got complaints from residents. During the searches, health officials found many used medical equipment, prescriptions and letterheads in the clinics, which were set up on the rear side of the pharmacies. The team also seized medical equipment, including blood pressure apparatus, stethoscope, and syringes.
