Family violence survivors reveal 'devastating' flaws in WA's restraining order system

These three women turned to the justice system to seek protection from dangerous men. "It's probably a little bit thin on evidence to grant an interim order," the magistrate told her. "I don't think it's in the interests of my mental health to continue with this anymore," she told the magistrate. "They override anything that's contained in the restraining order anyway," the magistrate said. "It seems like two different branches of the court that should be working together to protect children actually work against each other," she said.
