Sir Alan Bates accuses Starmer of ignoring two letters about Horizon scandal payouts

The Telegraph

Sir Alan Bates has accused Sir Keir Starmer of ignoring two letters he sent him about Horizon scandal compensation payments. Sir Alan, whose High Court battle alongside 554 other sub-postmasters inspired an ITV drama, told MPs on Tuesday how he was still waiting for his full payout 13 months after submitting his original claim. Appearing in front of the business and trade committee, which is holding a short inquiry into securing “fast and fair redress”, Sir Alan said he had written to Sir Keir personally on two occasions to request a firm deadline for payouts to those who fought alongside him against the Post Office, known as the Group Litigation Order. “I wrote to the Prime Minister about a month ago,” Sir Alan told the committee.
