PIL on Reselling Concert Tickets: A Call for Regulation
Live LawThe Delhi High Court has issued notice on a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking formulation and implementation of a regulatory framework regarding the reselling of concert tickets through authorized ticketing platforms. The PIL seeks to block unauthorized online platforms from operating in India where illegal and unauthorized sale of tickets is being carried out by them. The court also seeks a direction to the Union Government and other authorities to take necessary steps to regulate the reselling of concert tickets and prevent such practices. The PIL has been listed for hearing on February 18, along with another PIL concerning 'ticket scalping' of Coldplay concert tickets in the Bombay High Court.
