Andhra Pradesh: TIDCO Housing Issues to Be Solved Soon, Says Minister
Deccan ChronicleVijayawada: Municipal Administration P. Narayana has promised to resolve the issues of TIDCO houses and their beneficiaries soon. Replying to questions from Tirumala Naidu and Duvvarapu Rama Rao in the legislative council here on Wednesday, the minister said the previous government had raised loans of Rs 5,546.48 crore from various agencies. But it reduced the number for construction of TIDCO houses to 2,61,660 houses even as the state’s first Telugu Desam government had obtained permission from the Centre for construction of seven lakh houses. Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, he said, had ordered construction of TIDCO houses on the lines of gated communities and use of high-end technology for these constructions during the 2014-19m term. Meanwhile, the bankers were asking the beneficiaries to pay their EMIs for the loan availed.” The minister said the contractors’ bills worth Rs 540 crore were pending while the YSR Congress government spent Rs 300 crore to change the colours of the TIDCO houses.
