Bagalkot Superintendent of Police Amarnath Reddy has transferred six police constables on the charge of negligence and dereliction of duty. This follows a video that has been widely circulated on social media in which they are seen prostrating before a seer and receiving money from him, while on duty. Some social media users commented that though the personal beliefs of the policemen can be respected, they should not be bowing before seers while wearing uniforms and not receive money from anyone. The seer has criticised the transfers saying that there is nothing wrong in them receiving money from a seer as it is cash prasad which is a routine practice in the math.
