Wankhede allowed Panch witnesses on cruise during raids, accused tells CBI

The Central Bureau of Investigation has recorded the statement of another accused, identified as Ashish Ranjan Prasad, in connection with the corruption and extortion case registered against IRS Officer Sameer Wankhede, former Zonal Director of Mumbai NCB and others. According to sources, Prasad was questioned regarding the presence of other witnesses - Kiran Gosavi, Manish Bhanushali and Prabhakar Sail, during the raids at the Cruise terminal on October 2, 2021 and at the NCB office the same evening. Sources said Prasad told CBI officials that he had no idea about Gosavi, Prabhakar Sail and Bhanushali. Kiran Gosavi, also while speaking to India Today before his arrest by Pune police, had said that he had met VV Singh, the initial investigating officer of the Cordelia Cruise drugs case.
