MPs file complaint against Baudet for not declaring outside interests
MPs have filed an official complaint against FvD leader Thierry Baudet for refusing to declare his outside interests and earnings, which may result in his suspension for a month, RTL Nieuws reports. The integrity college, the body tasked with monitoring corruption, concluded in March that Baudet wasn’t keeping to the rules and should declare his outside jobs. ‘These are democratic rules and that means everyone has to keep to them, Baudet included,’ D66 MP Jan Peternotte told the broadcaster. In a reaction, Baudet told broadcaster NOS that MPs are ‘obsessed’ with public scrutiny and that ‘the real corruption in politics is in the political jobs carousel’.
