
SRSH activists oppose plans of unveiling Sambhaji statue
The HinduSri Ram Sena Hindustan activists have opposed the plans of the Belagavi City Corporation to unveil a statue of Sambhaji Maharaj in Angol in Belagavi, saying the surrounding structure was incomplete. SRSH founder president Ramakant Konduskar, told reporters in Belagavi on Saturday that the BJP-led urban local body was trying to organise the programme in a hurry. A team of BJP workers led by MLA Abhay Patil met Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan in Belagavi on Saturday, asking him to clear doubts regarding the event. Sources said that the DC told them that the officers were looking into the question of whether the inauguration would violate some rules set by the Supreme Court and the Karnataka High Court about installation of statues in public places.
