TN government announces 500-bed multi-super speciality hospital in south Chennai
The HinduThe Tamil Nadu government on Thursday made six major announcements, including the construction of a 500-bed multi-super speciality hospital at Guindy in south Chennai at a cost of ₹250 crore and free city bus travel for transpersons and persons with disabilities. The institution of 'Ilakkiya Mamani Virudhu' - awards for noted Tamil literary figures on a par with Kalaimamani awards; free houses for recipients of Jnanpith, Sahitya Akademi or other national/State and noteworthy awards and establishing a warehouses at a cost of ₹30 crore in Tiruvarur, are the other announcements. The 500-bed multi-super speciality hospital would come up on the King Institute campus at Guindy in Chennai, an official release said. Under the ‘Dream House’ scheme, a house would be provided by the State government free of cost to scholars, who are natives of Tamil Nadu and have been recipients of Jnanpith, Sahitya Akademi and other national awards, State literary awards and other noteworthy awards.
